Why Is This Being Tolerated?

I try not to rant, but today I really can’t help it. Why are large organizations constantly being allowed to step on whomever they want? Why do they never have to pay the price for the wrongs they commit against the public? We scream about social injustice and doing what’s right, but when it comes down to it, if the organization is big and bad enough they can get away with whatever they want.

Where did this all come from, you ask? Here

A 93 year old man froze to death in his home, because he had unpaid utility bills. They put a limiter on his meter to regulate the use of electricity. Really, in the middle of one of the worst winters ever? WTF? The temperature in the man’s house was reported at 32 degrees. Are you freakin’ kidding me?! I, personally, can’t stand that kind of a temperature with a coat, hat and scarf on. I don’t know how they would expect someone to live through it.

The article reports the man died a painfully, slow death. To me this just sounds inhumane! The man was late on his bills, so in essence they killed him for it. Don’t say I’m being harsh, because anyone with a brain has to know that surviving a harsh winter without heat is virtually impossible. The person might as well take their bed outside and sleep on the sidewalk.

Oh, and did I mention the article stated that when the poor man was finally found, they noticed he had money clipped to the bills. Hello! Maybe he didn’t pay the bills because he was busy freezing to death. The utility company deserves to be put through the ringer for this! Sadly, since the man didn’t have any family left, this will probably slide threw with no consequences issued to the big bad utility company and they will be left alone to do this to yet another poor person. May God have mercy on them!

*Rant Over*

Until next time.
